And now the real work begins…recording was a blast. It was almost 2 years, and veterans tell me that’s nothing, but it seemed like something. It seemed almost obsessive. A lot of listening, a lot of layering, a lot of trimming and pruning, a lot of practice, line after line, work it out! Over and over, and over and over and over. A lot of people have congratulated me on simply getting something done – ANYTHING!!
But now the real work begins. I gotta sell myself.
Welcome folks, to my first blog.
This CD has been a while coming. I wrote the first set of songs maybe 25 years ago. The others came later, some quite recently. It represents a fair stretch of time. Bob keeps telling me, “You get your whole life to write your first album – you get 12 months to do your second”. Doesn’t sound encouraging. I might do an EP next…
To sell your self you gotta get going on social media. Welcome, once again, to my first blog. And I’m gonna do twitter and instagram. Yeh man, I’m gonna put it out there
Boy, do I have a big story to tell. Yeh! nah, not really. But I do like telling stories, and I’ve collected a few, and I like writing songs and playing guitar and singing a few tunes with a few buddies and the crew down the local. Yeh, all good fun.
And I like writing songs about W.A. That’s Western Australia. And the rest of Australia, and a few other places and stuff in general, but I really like writing stories about my home town and the places I grew up, and places i lived, or visited, or dreamed about visiting, and the places my family are from.
So here it is. The first crack at recording some of my songs and getting a bit of stuff down. Getting it down, folk, getting it down. Yo! Some of the stories I’ve heard, some of the stories people have told me, some of the things I’ve seen, some of my story, some of lots of things. A lot of people have helped me, a lot of people have been on board and given their time and knowledge and love and experience.
