The main picture was taken near Esperance. When I say near, I mean within 140 km. The photo was taken by Kathy, the better half of our illustrious keyboardist, Tony. Tony is standing in the front of our trio with Max, the dog, looking in the other direction
I’m in the middle, a little further back.
We’d been driving along the coast of the Great Southern. We’d visited Lucky Bay and seen the whitest beach in Australia. We’d even had a yarn with a kangaroo on the beach. Watch this space. More to come!
The windmill and tree are from the Pilbara…the mighty Pilbara! make that, of north-west WA. I’m not sure of the name of the bore, but it was on the dirt road that runs from Nunutarra to Auski Roadhouse, the Nanutarra-Munjina Road, maybe. It was dirt before the mine extension went in, anyway. It might be sealed in places now, with overpasses and such. Mining, technology, money, infrastructure. On and on it goes.
Anyway, we stopped at the bore and had a picnic there, me and the wife and the bub. There was a little bit of shade, and we were able to spread out a blanket to let the bub roll around, and we had some sandwiches and a thermos of tea. There has to be a song in that!
